A DIY Festive Coffee Bar & Beanies Flavoured Coffee Review
Wednesday, 21 December 2016
Hey everyone! How are you? Have you finished work yet? Or are you keeping your head down until 5pm on Friday! I'm hoping to set my out of office tomorrow afternoon, but we shall see how the to do list is looking! Today is actually my sister - Mini J's -birthday so normally I'm all wrapped up in my Christmas PJs by now, but she is currently away in America for a year, so Christmas is already feeling a little different this year. No doubt the day itself will be filled with the same level of food but with much more skype time than ever before.
Hopefully, by now you've finished all the shopping, you may even have done your wrapping (I like leaving mine to Christmas eve) and now all that's left to do is eat all the mince pies and maybe add the finishing touches to your plans for the BIG DAY, which is exactly what today's post is about!
No doubt over the last month you've consumed your weight in festive coffees in red/knitted/boring blue (seriously - does anyone go to Cafe N?) take away cups, but if your house is anything like mine, your hot beverage intake is only set to increase over the next week! The kettle in our house barely ever gets chance to cool down (sorry environment) and that's even less likely to happen when we're all at home all day and guests are around. So this year instead of brushing up my waitress skills (jokes - there still on point from all those years) I've decided to create a DIY Festive Coffee Bar Station.
5 ways to give a little extra this Christmas

H A P P Y M O N D A Y!
Do you have that end of school feeling yet? I sort of do, after a weekend full of festive films, and celebrating fakmas with the Young Man, the only slight muffler on the whole thing, is that I have a pretty serious head cold. But I refuse to let that get me down, you might block my nose but not my spirit damm it!
Anyway... before I get too graphic let's move on shall we.
Merry Christmas...

Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!
Christmas eve is, without a doubt, my favourite day of the festive period! Sure tomorrow has all the gifts and the trimmings, but today? Today has giddiness, anticipation and time to take stock over just what giving a gift to somebody means.
In true Christmas Eve tradition, I am yet to get out of my pjs. We've got the radio on, Pappa J is tidying (around me), copious amounts of tea are being drunk, and we're all aware we should probably be wrapping. And I'm hoping tonight will be our usual takeaway (because you wouldn't want to be hungry come tomorrow!) and a festive film, Which Mamma J will no doubt push to be 'Die Hard,' which in our house is definitely classed as a Christmas film.
So whatever you are doing, and wherever you are, I hope you're exactly where you want to be, surrounded by your favourite people. I hope you all have a truly gorgeous Christmas and I'll see you on the other side of wrapping paper mountain.
Merry Christmas x

Monday... Hello December...
Monday, 7 December 2015
Hey everyone! Happy December! Unlike everyone else I can't believe it is ONLY the 7th of December. I feel like I've been feeling festive for months now! Which I am blaming entirely on my trip to Berlin, as I'm not normally one for staring Christmas in November.
Since coming back I've been feeling incredibly unfocused. I think part of me expected to come home, and wake up to Christmas day, so now having to wait another 3 weeks feels like a long slog! IT's also that time of year when everything and everyone starts to wind down so I can't seem to gee myself up by feeding off what's happening around me.
It's not just at my day job I've been feeling this way. Here too there has been a definite lack of consistency, and actually, that started before I went away. I also can't seem to get my head into working on my new show, or even spending time on journaling.
It's not an entirely unpleasant feeling. To have got to the end of a super busy year and to only have the mental capacity to find the next mince pie, but it is making me feel a bit out of sorts. A bit unlike me.
So if nothing else I want to promise myself that I will consistently post over the next couple of weeks. So much has happened this year that I want to reflect over that properly, I've got all my photos and adventures from Berlin to share, and sitting in my inbox are some gorgeous photos and positive messages about body image for the next 'My favourite things...' post.
These are posts I'm looking forward to sharing with you. That I'm looking forward to writing. If I can just put my mince pie and mulled wine down long enough to type.
Everything else? Well I'd love to make some outlandish goals about detoxing, exercising, and writing a 2 hour show before the end of the year, but in reality, I know that probably isn't going to happen. And setting the bar that high, and not reaching it, would only leave me feeling like a failure. Which is no how I want to end 2015.
I want to end 2015 feeling proud for everything I've accomplished thus far, and to make the most of December with family, friends and the young man.
So the only list of goals I'll be making, is one full of Christmas Films I've never seen before, because this December I should probably limit myself to only watching Love Actually once a week.
So Happy December everyone, I hope you're in the festive spirit too, and if not, have a mince pie on me.
Live life & embrace the season to be jolly x
