#DreamBiggerListProject - May

Wednesday 4 May 2016

Hey everyone! How are you? How was your bank holiday weekend? I took a wee break from blogging and social media and what have you, because I actually spent the majority of the weekend working with a group of twenty teenagers making a new show. One thing I'm trying to do is be a bit more intentional with how I spend my time, so that I am only ever concentrating on one thing at a time. Sure that might mean I don't give everything attention every day, but it does mean that when I do work on something it has all of my attention, and I don't spend my entire time flicking back and forth between notebooks, open tabs and different to-do lists!

Today I wanted to post something that celebrated the beginning of May. I often start each month with a list of to-dos and goals that I can feel exhausted before I've even begun, and I'm sure you're the same, so I thought it might be nice to write something that reminded me and you to enjoy the process, and not just stress about the end product. Then in a spot of serendipity I opened up Rachels newsletter from Dream Create Do, and found she has just started the new #DreamBiggerListProject and the prompts fitted my thoughts perfectly!

The project is open for anyone to get involved with, all you have to do is title your post the same as mine, and then answer the prompts below. Oh and make sure to tag Rachel on social media etc. so that we can all share and keep each other motivated. So without further ado here are my answers to this months prompts...

A HABIT I'M GOING TO BREAK

Buying my breakfast from the shop before work each morning! Not only is this really bad for my bank balance but it's also pretty terrible for my health!

SOMETHING NEW I'M GOING TO TRY

Calligraphy! The latest issue of Flow magazine came with a free 'Letter A Day' workbook so I'm going to aim to complete that by the end of the month!

A PLACE I'D LIKE TO VISIT

I've a couple of exciting trips planned this month to Brighton and Winchester, but what I'm really looking forward to is going home to York, to spend some quality time with my sister before she heads off to work in

A BOOK I'D LIKE TO READ

I've been doing pretty well with my reading this year, and next on my fiction list is 'My Grandmother Sends Her Regard and Apologies' by Frederick Backman. However I'd also like to finish 'You'll See it When You Believe It' which I've been reading on and off for the best part of a year.

A LETTER I'M GOING TO WRITE

I'm going to send my Grandma a postcard from Brighton when I'm there this weekend!

WHAT ARE YOU MOST GRATEFUL FOR RIGHT NOW?

The young man!  Not to be too soppy, but he has been a gem lately (as he always is!).

A NEW HEALTHY DISH I AM GOING TO COOK

I'm yet to cook anything out of the Hemsley + Hemsley cook book the young man bought me the other week, and I think he has his eye on a vegetable tart in there, so that might be a good way to show my gratitude!

I’M GOING TO DO BETTER AT

Being intentional with my time, I've definitely started doing this, but I think with everything going on this month, I really need to take it up to the next level!

And that's it my Dream Bigger List for this month! The prompts are great right? Are you going to join in? Let me know and leave a link to your list in the comments below! x
