Happy Friday no.18...

Friday 16 September 2016

Happy Friday everyone! How has your week been? It's been a REALLY quiet one for me, lots of time at home chilling out. So quiet in fact I even managed to make it out for a run. THREE TIMES. No doubt this quiet patch was needed but I am beginning to get a bit bored of my own company (thank god for social meadia making me feel ever so slightly less alone) and I'm looking forward to a weekend of seeing friends performing, and a promised Sunday brunch with Young Man.

But there are still plenty of things that have made me happy lately so lets get on with it shall we?

Reaching 300 followers on Bloglovin...

So I had hoped to reach 300 bloglovin' followers before my birthday and relaunch, and I had this grand plan to do a big old celebratory give away. BUT, I didn't quite make it to 300 by then. HOWEVER I did reach that milestone last week, and while in the grand scheme of things, 300 is a modest number, I still did a little squeal when I finally reached it! And Late or not, I think a giveaway is still in order, so keep your eyes peeled for that sometime in the near future...

Being super productive at work...

Maybe it's because I've had quite a lot of down time at home or maybe it's that September New School Year mentality but I have been on my A game at work recently, finishing each week with a completed to do list! Boy does that feel good!

Finishing a freelance project and being really proud of it...

A couple of months ago I took on a freelance project that really scared me. It was something new to me, it meant dusting off my writing skills, working with teenagers and covering an uneasy topic. I very nearly said no, but I'm so glad I didn't. It hasn't been easy going in so many ways but I've learnt so much along the way, and after our final rehearsal on Sunday I felt really really proud of not only the young people but myself too.

A weekend at home...

So as I write these lists every fortnight instead of weekly (weekly lists are far too much pressure to have a more exciting life than I currently lead) my weekend at home which topped off my Birthday Bonanza week deserves a mention. I took Young Man back to York with me to spend some time with Mamma and Pappa J and also got a chance to show him around one of my favourite seaside towns Whitby. Lots of food, lots of yabbering, lots of need for the quiet time that followed it!

Getting back into running...

Ok ok, maybe it's a little premature to be calling myself a 'runner' again, after only been at it for one week, but it has still felt really good! I'm no where near where I was in terms of distance and speed as I was a year ago, but getting back out there wasn't half as hard as I thought it would be so that's encouraging! Lets hope the gorgeous Autumnal weather continues and those dark nights stay away just a teeny bit longer!

THAT thunder storm...

Ok I'm not sure if Tuesday's thunder storm was nation wide, but here in Blackburn it was INCREDIBLE! The view from my window as the lightening forked out across the hills was amazing. Unfortunately for Mamma J I was on the phone to her at the time, and wasn't the best conversationalist ona ccount of all the oooo's and ahhhhh's but still! It was so good to sit curled up under a blanket, tea in hand, candles on and watch Mother Nature do her thing.

Creative Conversations...

I've now published two 'A Cup Of Creative With...' interviews and I am really really loving getting together with so many creative people and spending a good hour or two really getting to know them  beyond their blogs and businesses. And it seems like you guys are too so thank you s much for your encouraging comments! In case you've missed them so far I've chatted with Toni and Amanda, and a new interview will be up next Wednesday!

And that's about it! What's been making you happy lately? Any exciting plans for the weekend? Let me know, as always, in the comments x
