Happy Friday no.8...

Friday 8 April 2016

Happy Friday everyone! How are you? How has your week been? This has been a good week, like a REALLY good week for me, sure some of the BIG stuff is still lingering unsolved, but in terms of the every day things, I've had a lot to smile about lately! Mid week adventures, meeting wonderful new ladies, getting bashed about in a bubble, flooding my instagram account with pictures of flowers, and finding that much missed motivation. Here is what has made me happy this week...

Going on the Mother Hen of all Hen Do's last weekend...
My lovely friend Ellie is getting married, to my lovely friend Olly at the end of next month and I couldn't be MORE excited! I was already excited about it, and then I went on Ellie's hen do, and had the BEST time and met so many lovely new ladies, that I can't wait to see again. I have to take my hat off to the Maid of Honour, because this may have been my first ever hen do, but I know for a fact it is going to take a hell of a lot to beat it! We had afternoon tea at 108 Marleybourne which was delicous (another blog post may be in the works on that one!), and then we played Bubble Mayhen... which was... wait for it... 5 a side football meets zorbing! You had to carry around this giant bubble that surrounded you and knock your other opponents out. I went flying, but I would do it all over again, despite the pretty hefty bruises and not being able to lift my arms above my head for days! This of curse was all topped off with a night out full of cocktails, dancing and dares! I might have been exhausted all week from it, but I'm still smiling about it now!

Getting to spend some time in London...
Ok so this one sort of goes hand in hand with the hen do, because it was all held in London, but I felt it deserved a mention all of its own. I love heading to London and just soaking it all up. I definitely couldn't live there, because there are so MANY people, but the odd weekend wandering around picturesque streets, drinking top notch coffee, and feeling like you might stumble upon something new and exciting at any moment is intoxicating, and enticing.

Midweek adventures to the seaside...
On Wednesday the young man and I headed to Blackpool for a mid week treat and to catch the RSC's 'Midsummer Nights Dream at The Grand Theatre. The weather was CRAZY and wasn't the sun soaked day out we had hoped for, but crazy weather has it's own sort of charm doesn't it? And it certainly blew away all of the cobwebs! We spent the afternoon playing the arcades, and loosing all our two pence pieces. Gorged our selves on dohnuts, and fish and chips, and then headed to the theatre for the show. I love 'A Midsummer Nights Dream.' Sure it isn't the most hard hitting, ahead of it's time Shakespeare piece, but it is just so charming. I didn't LOVE this production of it, but it was beautifully designed, and the lovers fight scene was really funny, so if you can get discounted tickets because your under 26 I would definitely recommend it!

Feeling like I've upped my Instagram game a little...
Ok, this is such a blogger thing to say, but recently my instagram has being making me really happy! Of course it has been helped by all the adventuring, and having lots of good things to photograph, but actually taking a bit more time to edit my photos and post them is really satisfying. I don't NEED another creative hobby, I already neglect enough of them as it is, but I like using instagram to play around and remember that you don't have to perfect every creative outlet. I hope my instagram is a good mix of pretty things, good photos and snapshots of real life! If you don't already you can follow me here.
Getting stuck in at work...
So I haven't gone into great detail about it, but basically I have to find a new job before September. Which is a bit naff, when I don't really want a new job but the funding is too uncertain for me to just sit with my fingers crossed like I have been doing for the past 9 months. Obviously that realisation left me a little weary and dejected, but this week my mojo has returned! While the job I have might not last forever I'm a big believer that putting everything you have out into the universe is the best way to get the most out of it. So this week I've got my teeth stuck into a few smaller projects, and things aren't feeling quite so disheartening as they were. And I SWEAR having a to do list and actually ticking things off of it, makes your working day go so much faster!

What has made you happy this week? Let me know in the comments I love hearing from you guys x
