10 Sunday Loves no.1...

Sunday 17 April 2016

So I've named this post ' 10 Sunday loves no.1' as if it is a brand new type of post I'm writing but in actual fact I'm pretty sure that I've had posts very similar to this in the past, and just named them lots of different things!

Anyway...

I was inspired by Sophie's '10 favourites this week' posts and I wanted to start sharing with you some things in life that I am loving at the moment. Things that aren't full blown blog posts in themselves, don't really fit into my Happy Friday posts, and aren't all the same in nature. So here is a post that is a mish mash of style, life, tv, fashion, and other STUFF in life that I am currently loving!

Oh and I'm going to make a note of the title so that next time I write a similar style post it looks like part of a series. Woah, I know, professional blogger status here I come...

1. Braids, braids, and more braids...
I've been pretty obsessed with learning how to braid my hair for a while now. It started just before Christmas, when like everyone else I was looking to up my party game a little. I love Missy Sue tutorials, and have serious hair envy of her! I even found myself the other day considering hair extentions which is CRAZY since I have pretty long, very thick hair already, but that's what hours of youtube videos will do to you! Anyway I've got pretty good at headband braids, and dutch crown braids. Not beauty blogger good, but good enough!

2. Hustle on Netflix...

I'm a huge Adrian Lester fan, and I would actually quite like him to be the next Bond but highly doubt that will happen! Anyway, Hustle on Netflix is my new binge, even though it CRACKS me up seeing them use flip phones and the websites they design, it's like looking at the modern ages awkward teenage years!

3. Shirts and dungarees...

Anyone who knows me will tell you, I'm a dresses all year round, any time, any occasion kind of girl, but I picked up a pair of dungaree shorts in the M&S sale a couple of weeks ago, and I've basically worn nothing else ever since. My collection of tops and jeans has also significantly grown recently.

4. Open toe boots...

It's hardly the season for open toe shoes yet, even though it really should be! But I've been wearing my open toe black boots since February, when I went shoe shopping, got stressed out at the lack of quality flats available and picked these up from TopShop for £36 instead. They also have them in brown and white, which I'm seriously considering.

5. Chi chi of London...

It's my friends wedding at the end of May and I'm trying to justify how much I can spend on a new dress. Chloe from New Girl in Toon picked up a gorgeous one for her friends wedding last month from Chi Chi of London. Ever since I saw her instagram posts I've spent at least 20 minutes a day scrolling through the collection on ASOS. So many gorgeous A-Lines, so many colours...

6. These incredible instagram accounts
Jessie Bearden - @jessiebearden
Minty Sainsbury - @minty_sainsbury

Ever since instagram announced that they might be changing their algorithm and everyone panicked and asked us all to turn on notifications for their post, I've been thinking about what I really want to see on my feed. I decided I wanted to be able to scroll through instagram and feel inspired, so I unfollowed all the celebrities I was currently following (I know where they are, if I ever want a good stalk), made sure I liked as many of my real life friends, and favourite blogger photos as possible. Then I thought in between all the flat lays and photos of coffee I'd like to see some art, and theatre and travel, so I did a bit of an explore and cam across these two incredible accounts. That's J-laws face MADE OUT OF PIZZA, is there anything more inspiring than that?

7. Hemsley and Hemsley 'Good and Simple'...

As I mentioned in this post, I'm no longer eating vegan, and I'm trying to experiment and find a diet or eating plan that does work for me. The young man bought me a copy of Hemsley and Hemsley's 'Good and Simple' this week and I'm looking forward to trying out some of their recipes.

8. Almond syrup in my Soya Latte...

Speaking of being "healthy" I know I know, refined sugar etc. But I can't help it I just love getting a shot of Almond Syrup in my soya latte. Makes my coffee to go and train journeys all the more pleasant.

9. Bullet journaling, erm, sort of...
Ok so technically what I'm doing isn't bullet journalling, but I've definitely taken inspiration from all the stationery porn pins around at the moment and rejigged my notebook a little. I especially love having a habit tracker, because some how, a tiny tick in a tiny box makes sticking to my morning ritual feel like SUCH a big achievement.

10. And last but not least, some of my favourite blog posts lately...

After months of barely posting once a week this is my fourth post in 7 days! But that's how it goes writing a blog isn't it? Months and months of thinking it might be time to give up and then WHAM all of the ideas come an hit you in the face. The main reason I stick with blogging? Is because of how wonderful all you other bloggers are, and with that in mind, here are some posts I've loved recently....

What I Eat in a Day - Muted Morning's
Lovecrumbs - Rhyme & Ribbons
10 favourites this week - Sophie Cliff
15 things that instagram makes you believe - Curly and Wordy
My 8 Best Investments I've Made As A Blogger - Hannah Gale

What have you been loving lately? x
