morning monday... how did you do?

Morning everyone, how are you? Good weekend?

I'm recovering from a trip to Birmingham so I won't babble on too much and instead get straight into checking in with you guys about how I did with last weeks goals.
Work - so last week my aim was to make the most of a full week in the office and get all those niggly tasks ticked off. Job done on this one! It's all really picking up momentum at work, so having a set goal for the week in mind helped me to feel I was on top of things. More of the same for this week please!

Blog - I promised myself I'd post everyday last week (Mon-Fri) and I did! I was right, it did just the trick in making me feel like I had some structure in place to working towards a goal. This week I want to dust off those areas that I haven't blogged about in a while, and I haven't got a guest post for this weeks Bloggers Food Diary, so I am looking forward to knuckling down and getting a very personal post off my chest.

Theatre - Ok so last week I said I would do a bit of evaluation. That sort of happened subconsciously. If you read my post last Friday, you'll know that gradually I have been getting back into that arty head space. And it feels great. I even spent some time on the train this weekend writing down a few sketchy bits for my next piece. What I do need to do is work on the bigger plan for my current show, Love Letters & Other Pointless Scribbles. I'm going to give myself a deadline, of a week on Friday to have something to share with you by then.

Health - So, I'm a) not going to say too much about this because I want to store it all up for Wednesday's post and b) don't want to be too hard on myself either. I didn't work out every day last week, and I had one or two slips, but what I'm more fussed about at the moment, is teaching myself that a slip doesn't equal total failure. One biscuit doesn't mean I'm never going to eat healthy again. It also doesn't mean that I should finish the whole packet. All in all, this is a much bigger goal than one week, so any progress is good progress, and boy do I feel the need to get back into it after this weekend!

So that is how I did. Setting my goals out for the week definitely helped put me in a good mind set. This week I also start my sewing and fashion course, so that is exciting, and I am going to get all my plans made concrete for a spot of travelling in November so come my long awaited pay day next Monday I can just go ahead and book it all!

I definitely feel more like myself now that my life once again feels a bit like a project. I know that is a weird way to look at living you're everyday, and I know that sometimes that can be exhausting, but the way I see it, life is the most important thing you have, so it makes sense to spend a little time working on it, and yourself.

  1. Great post - It's very inspiring to hear what a good head space you're in :) I set myself a goal to be calmer this week, and so far - so good! Not as impressive as your list there... but I'm all about chilling at the moment!

  2. I have also taken on the mind set to let things go a little more. It's all well and good to be go go go, but sometimes I just need to learn to relax and let things be, otherwise I end up doing more harm than good! Glad you are finding a bit of zen! x
